Event description
Violinist Juliette Kang & cellist Thomas Kraines performing a program ranging from Bach, Handel and Ravel to present day American composers.

About this Event

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, we will be working on rescheduling recorder virtuoso Tabea Debus and lutenist Paul Morton's performance to our 40th anniversary season 2021-22. Violinist Juliette Kang and cellist Thomas Kraines will be performing for our January 13, 2021 concert instead.

Canadian violinist Juliette Kang, First Associate Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, together with her husband, Thomas Kraines, composer and cellist of the Daedalus Quartet, will share their spectacular virtuosity and authentic musicianship in a program ranging from Bach, Handel and Ravel to present day American composers.

PROGRAM: Handel/Halvorsen: Passacaglia; Thomas Kraines: Three Pieces for violin and cello (2000); Ernst Toch: Divertimento for violin and cello, Op 37, No. 1; Anna Weesner: Sudden, Unbidden (1998); Nansi Carroll: Spiritual for cello solo; Bach: Two-Part Inventions No. 8 in F Major and No. 6 in E Major; and Ravel: Sonata for violin and cello.
