The Collins College is proud to present this year's Richard Frank Distinguished Lectureship on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. in the Kellogg West Auditorium (Bldg. 76) with a Q&A session following the lecture. All students, faculty and staff are invited to hear from Julia Stewart, retail and consumer executive and former Chair and CEO of Dine Brands Global Inc.

ABOUT JULIA STEWART

Julia Stewart is the former Chair and CEO of Dine Brands Global Inc., (formerly DineEquity Inc.), where she led the creation of the world’s largest full-service restaurant company (2007-2017). Prior to creating the company, she was Chair and CEO of IHOP (2001-2007) and President of Applebee’s (1998-2001), for a combined career of almost 20 years with iconic brands, IHOP and Applebee’s. Earlier in her career, she also held executive positions with Taco Bell, Black Angus/Cattle Company restaurants, Burger King Corporation and Carl’s Jr. Restaurants.

Ms. Stewart is a founding member of the non-profit, Women’s Foodservice Forum (1989-present); member of the Board of Directors for Avery Dennison (2003-present) and current Chair of the Compensation Committee; member of the Board of Directors for non-profit, Children’s Bureau (2006-present) and past Chair (2013-2017); member of the Board of Directors for Rhone Group/Fogo de Chao (2018-present); and past Board member of: California Restaurant Association; UCLA Anderson School of Management/Board of Visitors; The Music Center and California Science Center.

Ms. Stewart is a sought-after speaker on topics including leadership, building winning teams and how to manage rapid change. Recent engagements include 2018 speech to the National Air and Space Intelligence Center; 2017 Commencement Address at the USC Marshall School of Business and 2016 Guest Lecturer at UCLA Anderson School of Management Leadership Series.


This free event is a part of the Richard N. Frank Distinguished Lectureship Series, which was established in 1988 to enable respected industry professionals to spend time teaching, lecturing, and interacting with students, faculty and other professionals interested in the goals of the college.
