Your Donations at Work

This year we are proud to announce the proceeds will benefit  Edison Local School District Athletic Department.

This donation will be used to create the Judy Maple Foundation Concession Stand Fund, which will be used to purchase new items and enhance the guest experience at the Edison Unified Sports Complex concession stand. This stand serves football and soccer games in the fall and track meets, baseball games, and softball games in the spring.

If you knew Judy, you know this donation makes perfect sense. Our Mom and Dad spent over 18 years donating their time to the school all of us attended, first known as Jefferson Union High School, then Edison South High School, and finally Edison Local High School. They were particularly involved in concessions during this time.

It was not uncommon for our family car to be packed with candy and snacks to take to the Jefferson State Park baseball fields. Our parents helped ensure coffee was always ready for fans that showed up on chilly evenings to support the teams. In the late 1980s, our Dad even repurposed some old rusted high school lockers in school colors to house the concession stand products at the school during basketball season. Doing all of this, plus spending countless hours working on sports banquets and the Mother’s Club, was our Mom’s passion, and we are proud to choose this as this year’s beneficiary.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will also be used to continue The Judy Maple Memorial Scholarship Fund and our annual Holiday Giving Program. The Judy Maple Memorial Scholarship is presented each year to a deserving Edison High School student. This student most exemplifies the qualities that Judy always felt to be important-being a positive role model by demonstrating sportsmanship and serving the community.

About the organizer

The Judy Maple Foundation was founded in 2005 by her 6 children, Cindy Maple, Dave Maple, Jr., Kevin Maple, Criss Maple, Steve Maple, and Jennifer Bash.  Judy Maple lost her battle with colon cancer on April 14, 2000. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who believed in giving back to the community and helping others. The foundation provides service to the community through an annual scholarship to an Edison High School senior, and financial donations to many organizations and families in need. To date, more than $205,000 has been donated to our beneficiaries.
