Jubilee Tree Planting Day
Event Information
About this event
Come and plant a tree to help fight the climate crisis as part of “Trees for Climate”, a five-year Defra-funded project to plant trees on 250 ha of land within the Greenwood Community Forest and further afield. It’s also a great opportunity to plant a tree for the Platinum Jubilee in celebration of the Queen’s 70 years of service to the nation! We will be on hand to help you plant at least one small tree each, with the opportunity to plant more.
The tree-planting site is a 5–10-minute gentle walk from the Dynamo House and is on a sloping, undulating field which may not be easy for everyone to access. If you have any questions just ask us on greenwood@nottscc.gov.uk or 0115 9932600
Parking is limited in the car park next to the Dynamo House and Winding Engine House so please car share, use public transport or walk if you can. The Welfare Public House and and Kitchen have allowed us to use their car park as an overflow car park. This is located in Church Road, Off Park Road, NG6 8TQ. Moor Bridge is the nearest tram stop approximately a mile and a half away. Visit https://www.nctx.co.uk/services or https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/141/timetable for details of buses to Bestwood.
