Event description

Description

THE SERIES 2017 presents JP Dance Group on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at 8 PM. This engagement takes the audience on an exploration of storytelling through video projection and choreography. Using Isadora software, video in each of the works is manipulated in real-time so that it interacts with the live onstage action. Rather than two isolated visuals sharing space on stage, dance and video in these works mutually reinforce elements that drive the narrative.

The Web illustrates the interpersonal disconnection caused by technology, and the distortion of information as it is spread via electronic media. It questions the role that technology plays in dehumanizing society. Nocnica juxtaposes one woman’s external persona with her internal demons, and explores where these two components of her personality converge. Venus De Mio is the story of a modern-day artist who meets his muse.

The dancers of JP Dance Group include: Diego Aleixo, Alejandra Dominguez, Diane Hutchinson, Cassandra Orefice, Erke Roosen, & Debbie Schneider.
