Description:
OWU Department of Performing Arts is excited to present "JOURNEYS OF LOVE: A Festival of New Musical Theatre, Written By Professional Composers, Lyricists, and Book Writers." This special showcase of 8 new works, all themed around moving toward (or away from) the things we love, features songs and some scenes from many of the most talented theatre makers working in the industry right now. A number of the works are world premieres--many of the songs have never been staged for an audience beyond a workshop reading--and all are Ohio premieres. The new restructuring of Theatre, in the Department of Performing Arts, emphasizes a focus on original and contemporary works, and this showcase allows OWU to announce itself as a space welcoming of exciting, contemporary voices, while also bringing those new visions in musical theatre to Ohio Wesleyan and the Delaware/Central Ohio community! This event is a must for all musical theatre lovers and a perfect way to celebrate spring.
Content Note: Some of these musical numbers, being contemporary works, feature adult themes and situations, and one number has one instance of profanity. This show may not be suitable for youth under the age of 13, so Parental Discretion is advised.
While Ohio Wesleyan University currently does not have a mask mandate, anyone should feel free to wear masks if they desire.
