Please join us for the third Journalism Interactive, the conference on journalism education and digital media to be held at the University of Maryland in College Park., Md., April 4-5, 2014.
The conference is hosted by the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism in cooperation with J/i consortium partners, The University of Florida and the University of Missouri. Other schools represented on the national planning committee include the University of North Carolina and the University of Mississippi.
The speaker lineup is available on the J/i conference website. It features a two-day whirlwind of multimedia presentations and hands-on workshops about interactive storytelling, mobile news, data-driven reporting and visual journalism.
Session/Speaker Ideas: Through February, the J/i planning committee sought proposals for session topics and presentations on the Journalism Interactive website. Those selected to present in the annual Teach-A-Thon and Research-A-thon will enjoy complimentary registration. Attendees can still submit a proposal for the Live Business Pitch Contest; details on the conference Web site.
Conference Hotel: SOLD OUT -- The conference hotel is the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center adjacent to the University of Maryland. The street address is 3501 University Blvd, East Hyattsville, Maryland 20783. A discounted room rate code (for $93 per night rooms) is available for attendees through the Travel page on the J/i conference website. Discounted rooms are limited, so book early. THE HOTEL is sold out for the conference dates, but you can continue checking for cancellations.
Refunds: Before February 28, 2014, a full refund on registration will be available to those who need to cancel, minus Eventbrite's processing fees. From February 28 to March 21, a refund of half the registration will be given. After March 21, no refunds will be available.
