Event description

Description

Do you want to get better at advocacy? What about spreading the word of recovery transformations taking place? Letting folks know how you feel about local, statewide and national issues? Holding up for praise local politicians who keep their word? Holding feet to the fire those who don’t?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, Hope’s Journalism Bootcamp (January 18-19 in Manchester) is for you. Working with Rob Greene, a working journalist and SNHU professor, Carol Robidoux, publisher and visionary behind ManchesterInkLink.com and a group of local journalists, Hope is putting on a weekend-long training for members of the recovery community. Here you’ll learn the basics of:

  • Interviewing, note taking and writing hard news
  • Writing opinion pieces
  • News photography
  • Podcasting—both audio and video
  • Investigative reporting

Sponsored by the FO, this workshop will require participants to submit a writing sample ahead of time (details at registration) and write a 500-750-word blog post for the FO’s blog.

If there are no more tickets available, please forward your name and phone number to info@recoverynh.org with the subject "Boot Camp" and you will be added to a waitlist in the event of any cancellations.
