About Journal of a Young Black Woman
“The Young Black Women's Project will stay with me for the rest of my journey.”
-Vanessa Spence
Journal of a Young Black Woman invites readers to take part in a journey of self-discovery inspired by the women of the Young Black Women’s Project workshop series.
In this book, you’ll find a compilation of stories written by Young Black Women’s Project alumni and mentors, who have on these pages laid bare their aspirations and vulnerabilities, challenges and triumphs, in the hopes of opening up our circle of young black women to you, the reader.
On these pages you’ll find friends to walk with you through the sweetness and the sadness, the feats and the failures, and above all in the moments when you need to feel as though you are not alone.
