We're so pumped for this epic night of R&B and Soul at The Outpost. Josiah & The Greater Good consistenly deliver one of Knoxville's most exciting concerts and this will be Mathien's first full band show in Knoxville in nearly two years. Do not miss this one!

JOSIAH & THE GREATER GOOD

From Knoxville, Tennessee, supported by his band, The Greater Good, Josiah Atchley, marine turned musician, is taking the music scene by storm! With a high energy show, full of unpredictable jams, one is guaranteed to leave a fan. With Frank Sheadrick Jr on drums, Jon Augustus on bass, Brandon Bowman on saxophone, Joey Pierce on lead, Mark Radice on keys, and Josiah Atchley in the front on rhythm guitar and vocals, they combine for lethal dose of heavy rock/blues/reggae vibes with a hint of pop and whatever other seasoning the moment may call for.

The Greater Good has made their presence heard on the entire east coast. With sets in Bonnaroo, Hillfest, Rhythm & Blooms, and BlankFest the band has transitioned into a full fledged stage band. They have shared the stage and opened for several major touring acts, such as Tom Keifer (Cinderella), Fastball, and the multi-platinum, international touring band Kansas.

The band has released three major singles, including award winning “Real Mother Lover,” “Gypsy,” and “Broken Man.” As well as receiving an award for best Funk/Rock album/EP, released in Knoxville, 2017. The Greater Good also re-released Josiah’s 2014 EP “Scoundrel” as a full ensemble, ensuring fans that you would always be able to listen to their fresh sound. The band has continued exploring other states and bigger venues as they build upon their previous success. Watch out for all news involving The Greater Good, and be prepared for some fresh new tunes as singles and an EP are in the works for late 2018!

Come join the movement and help propel a band of hungry Knoxvillians into the next level!

Download & stream music on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and all major digital retailers.

MATHIEN

Chicago-bred artist Mathien (may-thee-in) began recording soul and hip hop influenced music in his parents living room during his early teenage years. Upon graduation from High School, he moved his equipment down to Carbondale, Illinois where he attended college and began assembling bands to play the material live, with good outcome. Selling out shows all over the Midwest and receiving extensive college radio plays due to his song "We don't need to make love to know that we've got it" eventually led to Mathien being signed to a 3 album deal with Midwest Music Group in 2009, By 2012 Mathien had regularly sold out the House of Blues and embarked on countless US tours. Needing a change of pace, Mathien parted ways with MMG in 2014 and moved to Tennessee where he released Unique Man in June 2014 and The Freedom Tapes (which includes the hit song, “Wurlitzer Crowley”) in January 2015 both to critical acclaim. C.A.L.M was released in 2016 followed by DoWhutNah?! In 2017. More recently, Mathien has been collaborating with The Brothers Castle to score visuals for brands and non-profit organizations. His collaborations include; PUMA, Pusha T, Shinola Detroit and the Babel Project, among others.
