Event description

Description

Join us for a bike tour of historic factories along the Jones Falls. The tour will stop at sites included in the Jones Falls Historic Wayfinding Signage Project that tell the story of the industrial history of the Jones Falls and the lives of its workers, from the early 19th century to the present day. We'll also be stopping at various landmarks along the way.

Route Details

We'll be on bike paths and low-traffic roads, rolling with some hills in the Jones Falls Valley. Any bike with good working brakes and gears will do. Easy pace with frequent history stops. 12 miles. Because of the hilly terrain, this tour is recommended for experienced riders. Meet at the corner of 36th and Falls Road in Roosevelt Park any time after 9:30AM. Ride begins PROMPTLY at 10AM and will take approximately 2 hours. Stops and landmarks we'll pass by include:

The event is co-presented by the Greater Hampden Heritage Alliance, Preservation Maryland, Baltimore Heritage, and the Baltimore Architecture Foundation.

Rain Date

If it is grey, we ride. If it is raining hard, we cancel. And if it is somewhere in between, we will make the call on whether to go or not to go two hours before the tour starts. Reach out to Nathan Dennies at 443-608-0849 with any questions. The rain date will be June 30.
