Event description

Description

Pure Water San Diego is the City of San Diego's phased, multi-year program that will use proven technology to purify recycled water and provide one-third of San Diego's water supply locally by 2035. In this presentation, guests will learn about San Diego’s water supply challenges and how the Pure Water Program will provide a safe, reliable and sustainable water supply. Additionally, information will be provided about the Pure Water Phase 1 infrastructure projects, which will begin construction in 2019 and deliver 30 million gallons of purified water per day starting in 2023.

Today’s speaker, Sean McCarty, has been working as a sub-consultant to Stantec’s Pure Water Program Management contract with the City of San Diego. Sean serves as the Deputy Project Manager for conveyance projects in the program management office at the City’s Public Utilities Department. The conveyance projects are estimated to have a $450M construction cost and include the following components:

• Morena Pump Station and Influent Piping
• Morena Pipelines
• North City Pure Water Pipeline
• Pure Water Subaqueous Pipeline
• Miramar Reservoir Pump Station Improvements
