About this event
On Dec. 8, 1941, the day after Hawaii was bombed, the U.S. Declared war which marked America’s role in the World War II, after many years of refusal to attack any country. This year, Hawaii is once again under threat – this time by nuclear missile. We feel that a better response is to now declare peace. We ask the world to pray for peace on the 79th anniversary of the declaration of the start of World War II for America. This time, we ask everyone to declare peace on the world Dec. 8 at 10am to 11am (HST).

10 am - Conch shell sounds and the oli (chant) begins by the Chair of the Kupuna Council, Kamaki Kanahele, followed by his Hawaiian prayer.
10:05 Kahu Dr. Terry Shintani (me) will make opening remarks and introductions
10:10 From Las Vegas, Dame Commander Dr. Sandra Rose Michael will explain the scalar chamber and the amplification of prayer.
Prayers will be offered in this order tentatively.
