Join us for a special evening volunteer event!
Event Information
Description
Start your Halloween early at the Food Bank's special evening sort: Return of the Living Fed!
Alameda County Community Food Bank serves 1 in 6 of our neighbors — from Boo-erkeley to Fear-mont, Ohh-akland to Shiver-more. In just 3 hours, you can help us sort and package food that adds up to thousands of meals.
Hunger is a big problem, but we can help! Meet new people and learn more about the work we do — and then get down to business, sorting fresh produce and food drive donations that will go directly to families in need.
Space is limited — each ghost and goblin must register. Please limit your group to 10 volunteers so we can offer this special opportunity to as many groups as possible.
Dinner is on us — courtesy of the Grilled Cheese Guy — as are raffle prizes! Come in costume (but no capes, masks or open-toed shoes on the warehouse floor).
See you there!
Age Limit: Due to safety concerns this particular event is limited to volunteers 18 and over.
Transit: Take BART to Coliseum/Oakland Airport station. The AC Transit 98 counterclockwise bus (get on at the BART side of the street) stops across the street, at 8001 Edgewater Drive. The 73 Oakland Airport bus (get on opposite the BART station) stops at Hegenberger Road, a 0.4-mile walk to the Food Bank. Check NextBus for more information.
