Do you want to walk, cycle or run in solidarity with immigration detainees?
Join us on Saturday 29th October to Walk the Thames to raise awareness and vital funding for our work helping immigration detainees. Either a half or full marathon, it’s your choice!
BID works to challenge immigration detention in the UK through the provision of legal advice, information and representation for detainees, as well as research, policy, advocacy and strategic litigation. Find out more about our work http://www.biduk.org/
Walk the Thames is organised by the London Legal Support Trust, a charity that raises funds for organisations like ours that provide free legal advice and every penny raised by Team BID goes straight to BID!
The walk will start at 8.30 am and will start in the heart of London, near Tower Bridge. The half marathon ends in Putney and the full marathon in Hampton Court. If you’d like to start later you can opt to start at Putney and end at Hampton Court!
There will be LLST representatives at each of the end points to cheer you, welcome you back and you can also enjoy some well-deserved refreshments!
There is no entry fee or minimum sponsorship but we do ask that you raise as much as you can because it really does make a huge difference to our work!
Please choose whether you’d like to complete the full or half marathon by selecting the relevant ticket and filling in your details. You’ll then receive an automatic email from Eventbrite and an email from BID including being added to our Virgin Money Giving page (http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/BIDWTT2016). Please look out for the email from us because there will be more information including a sponsorship form, as well as how you can order a t-shirt or running vest if you’d like one. In the meantime if you have any questions please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to seeing you there!
