Calling All Intersectional Feminists!
Two and a half months ago, on the eve of the 2016 election, the rise of Donald Trump and his coming inauguration seemed a near impossibility. Today we ask you to stand with the African American Policy Forum, One Billion Rising and hundreds of dedicated activists in resisting the coming administrations assault on people of color and women.
This weekend, we are honored to be co-sponsoring two events in Washington DC: a pre-march Prep Rally on Friday, January 20th with One Billion Rising, and the Women’s March itself on Saturday, January 21st.
Friday Prep Rally with AAPF and 1BR:
Friday, January 20th, from 5:00-7:00pm: AAPF, One Billion Rising/V-Day & Busboys and Poets will host a Prep Rally for the Women's March at Busboys and Poets in Washington DC. Featuring live music courtesy of Hollis, spoken word, conversation with Eve Ensler, Kimberle Crenshaw and Michael Moore, stations to make protest signs, and more. Please join us at the 5th and K location and get ready to march!
Meet-Up Location for the Women’s March on Washington:
Please join AAPF and 1BR on the day of the march to make a strong stand in support women and girls of color. We will be gathering at Garfield Park, at the intersection of 3rd and G Street SE before the march, so that we can coordinate and proceed as group.
As the march proper begins at 10am, please plan to assemble at Garfield Park between 8:30 and 9:30AM on Saturday, January 21st. We are not the only groups meeting at this designated spot, so please be sure to look for our AAPF & #SayHerName signs and banners.
As the weekend approaches, please RSVP so that we can relay detail and information as wel learn more. We look forward to walking by yourside in this essential act of resistance. Thank you for standing with AAPF and 1BR!
