Future chefs, brewers, bakers and restauranteurs this is your tour! Do you love to cook, bake or create with food? Are you interested in a career in the food service industry or nutrition? Maybe someday you hope to own or manage your own café or restaurant or perhaps you just love food or want to learn to be a better cook. This is the tour for you!
At our Harborside Campus, students tour the academic center, recreation center, Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence, and Culinary Arts Museum. Lunch will be available at one of our on-campus dining facilities.
The tour includes an overview of our admissions process, an in depth look at our culinary and baking & pastry curricula, and gives the students an understanding of daily life for a Johnson & Wales student.
Due to Johnson & Wales University’s unique upside down curriculum, students are exposed to hands-on courses specific to their major in the first two years of their study. After completing their Associate’s Degree, they have the option of choosing from several different Bachelor’s Degree tracks that will help them focus further on their study of interest. Students are required to complete an internship in order to fulfill the requirements for their Associate’s Degree. Our Experiential Education and Career Services Department has staff members on campus to help students find an internship site. We have students throughout the country as well as around the world gaining real world industry experience while earning their degrees. This office hosts on-campus career fairs that expose students to industry professionals as a means of networking for future employment opportunities. We also offer a variety of Graduate programs on campus, at our Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School.
Special instructions for visitors.
This will be a walking tour, please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
