Sat, April 22, 2017, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
For Johnson County we are going to be participating in Rock the Block on Saturday, April 22 at Center Grove High School. Rock the Block offers a 10K (timed), 5K walk/run (family-friendly), and a free Kids Run. The event includes scenic courses, food, music, vendors, awards and giveaways.
When you register for this event, you will be participating with a group of Lilly Endowment Community Scholars, family, friends and community members. We are will take part in the 5K walk/run. Please arrive at 8 AM so we have some time to socialize, energize and get warmed up for the race. We will send information about our specific gathering place closer to the event.
Please RSVP via Eventbrite, but note that YOU MUST ALSO REGISTER WITH ROCK THE BLOCK via the following site: http://www.rocktheblockrun.org/. Please select the 5K walk/run and Kic-it /Kids in Crisis Intervention Team as your charity. Registration is $25 (plus a $2.75 processing fee) before April 1 and $30 after April 1. If you register on-site the day of the race the cost is $35. If you can't make it on the day of the event and want to donate to the cause the site has the option to do that as well when you click to register. (Note: The cut-off for receiving a Rock the Block shirt is April 10)
Please note that we will be taking photos/video at this event and plan to share them via our e-newsletter, website and social media channels. We may also submit photos/videos to the local press. By signing up to volunteer, you agree to allow the Lilly Scholars Network to use your voice, name, picture and other information about you for promotional, publicity, or organizational purposes.
As Lilly scholars we are incredibly grateful for the investments our communities made in our education, and we thank you for helping us pay it forward!
