About this Event
Johns Hopkins University's newest program, Immersive Storytelling and Emerging Technologies (ISET), is opening up its industry and creative expertise through an exclusive immersive media summit hosted by the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund in Baltimore on December 6-7, 2019.
We are inviting members of the community to expand their horizons in fields of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence.

This year, the expanded Immersive Summit will be held across three venues on North Ave: The Parkway Theater and Baltimore Improv Group (BIG) Theater.
Friday:
December 6 from 3-9pm at the Improv and Parkway Theaters (See full addresses below)
Event Registration and demos open from 3:00-5:00 at the Improv Theater
Late registration opens at 5:00 at the Parkway Theater
Opening Remarks 5:30 at the Parkway Theater, followed by:
Keynote Speaker Stephanie Dinkins, Associate Professor, Department of Art, Stony Brook University, Sundance New Frontiers Story Lab Fellow 2018, 2019 Capital Creative Grantee
Presentation by Dr. Courtney Cogburn, Associate Professor at the Columbia University School of Social Work and Faculty of the Columbia Population Research Center.
Saturday:
December 7th from 9-5pm at the Baltimore Improv Group (BIG) Theater at 1727 N Charles St
A full day of immersive workshops, training sessions and demos. Industry experts will provide a deep dive into key considerations, best practices and concerns and share their assessment of the market.
Attendees will have the opportunity to multiple immersive media experiences.

About ISET:
The Immersive Storytelling and Emerging Technologies (ISET) is a new program lead by the industry’s leading and award winning creative pioneers. It is designed to utilize and contextualize dominant emerging technologies - including virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence - for artistic expression and social impact. The concentration offers new perspectives as to how we relate to the world, others and — most importantly — ourselves. Experimentation is encouraged. Recent student projects have included aspects of ethnography, experimental art, data visualization, animation, oral history and narrative VR.
