The Johns Hopkins Medicine Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Below the Belt – Stride and Thrive 5k and 1-Mile Run/Walk

Every 5 minutes, a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with a ‘below the belt’ gynecologic cancer. These cancers affect more than 100,000 women and cause over 30,000 deaths each year. Race proceeds help fund innovative gynecologic cancer research, support local cancer survivors, and benefit the Susan L. Burgert, M.D. Gynecologic Oncology Survivorship Program at The Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service in the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
Entry Fee
$35 through Wednesday, May 16th
$45 if registering day of event and at packet pick up
10 and under are free, but need to register
Entry fees are non-refundable and this is a rain or shine event.

Race Day - we have Packet Pick-up on race day but we suggest that you pick up earlier to avoid any lines.

All preregistered runners will receive a unisex-sized t-shirt and goodie bag until supplies run out. Please let us know if you are a Gynecologic Cancer Survivor.

Muller Deck: (between Buildings 39 and 16 on map) Muller Deck is on San Martin Drive, behind the Athletic Center. It is the top exterior level above the Space Telescope Science Institute Garage.
Space Telescope Science Institute Garage, 2nd level (across from Building 39 on map): The first level will not be accessible; access the second level by turning off of San Martin Drive and following the driveway to enter the second level directly.
San Martin Garage (parking garage #47 on map): The San Martin Garage is on the west side of campus on San Martin Drive, a short walk to Homewood Field. Access to the campus is via a pedestrian bridge over San Martin Drive, or via the exit on the north side of the garage to street level.
City parking: follow instructions on pay-to-park signs and kiosk;
On-street parking along W. University Pkwy and N. Charles St.

Hotels
If you will be travelling from out-of-town for the race, we recommend you secure your accommodations as soon as possible. Our race is the same weekend as the Preakness in Baltimore, and many hotels closest to the Homewood campus have two-night minimum stays (Friday and Saturday), or are already fully booked.
For your convenience, we have set aside a block of 20 rooms at the Towson University Marriott Conference Hotel. On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
Pre-race warm up 8:30 a.m.
-Our warm-up will be provided by Soul Body . . . Strong Body
5K run/walk 9:00 a.m.
1 mile walk 9:05 a.m.
Awards/Survivor ceremony 10:15 a.m.
Race Day Activities
Make sure you visit our corporate exhibitors, sponsors, and race day supports in the race village area! Gynecologic cancer survivors, please visit our survivor tent. We have special gifts for you!
Please note: Raffle tickets will be sold for amazing gift baskets! Please bring cash or a check. 1 ticket for $5 and 5 for $20. Your race bib will have one free raffle ticket attached to use for a special drawing for a Charm City Run gift certificate. We also have purple and teal locally made pottery coffee mugs, silk scarves, and baseball hats for sale.
We have activities for children also. (face painting, etc.)

Event guidelines
Please no roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, or pets allowed on the race course. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. This is a timing chip event.
