Saturday evening concert features nationally and internationally acclaimed John Gorka, described by Rolling Stone Magazine as "the preeminent male singer-songwriter of what has been dubbed 'the New Folk Movement.'" Opening act features vibrant folk ensemble, The Wonderhills (Bloomington, IN). Saturday Evening Concert tickets are $15. Pre-purchase via Eventbrite highly recommended as seating is limited. All ticket sales final.
Most other activities are free during the festival weekend: hourly concerts, grand opening sing-along, folk dance tent, extensive Children's program - including an "Instrument Petting Zoo," children's parade, Saturday drum circle (open to all), informal and "scheduled" jams, Store Tent, and more!
45 music workshops running continuously over the two days covering a multitude of instruments and topics. Also available beginners workshops with loaner instruments. Complete workshop listing at website below. Workshop registration: $10 for Saturday and $10 for Sunday. Attend as many workshops as you wish on those days. Workshop registration -- on site only in the Store Tent.
Parking on site. Food service on site until 6:30pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Carry in food/drink is permitted (alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the Metro Park).
