SQL Server may have been late to the party, but you needn't be! Window functions in SQL add power and speed to your queries and have a myriad of uses in all types of situations.
In just 15 minutes, we'll learn the what, when and how of the Windowing functions, and you'll quickly wonder how you wrote SQL before you saw the light! We'll start with understanding the components of the functions, dealing with each part separately before joining them together to show the power of the functions and practical uses across a variety of situations.
19:25 - Michael Johnson ( B | T | L ) - Analysing real-time data with Azure Stream Analytics
A common request in Business Intelligence (BI) has always been for real-time information however, cost and complexity often get in the way. Azure stream analytics provides a scalable, cost-effective platform in which real-time events can be analysed.
We will look at how you can use Azure stream analytics to process and act on streaming time-sensitive insights. Using the rich source of events including IOT and social media streams, data can be processed using a TSQL-like language to analyse time sensitive data before results are pushed to one or more of the supported outputs including Power BI.
