About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

Join us on Sunday, July 27 for our Summer Tiyul (outing), where we'll be coming together in Pitlochry to kayak on Loch Faskally. We'll gather together with old and new friends from across Scotland to enjoy the summer, and will also have some peer-led Jewish learning exploring our connection to the natural world.

Everyone welcome, regardless of affiliation with other Jewish communities or background, including non-Jewish partners and family members. While this event is primarily intended for members of the Jewish community (and partners/family members) to come together, it's meant to be an inclusive and welcoming space. This event will only be for people aged 18 and up.

Light vegetarian snacks will be served after the kayaking, including gluten and dairy. Please be in touch with any additional dietary requests. All ingredients will be certified kosher and cooked and served on kosher dishes.

Bouyancy aids will be provided, but please dress accordingly and prepare to get wet. Waterproof sandals are recommended for being in the kayaks. We will have access to a mixture of single kayaks, double kayaks, and paddleboards, which will be shared amongst the group. Everyone will be responsible for their own swimming and water safety during the event.

There is level access to the venue, although over rough and uneven ground. The boats themselves are not adapted for additional accessibility. Please be in touch with any further questions.

Participants will need to get themselves to Pitlochry. Exact location and recommended transit links will be sent to registered participants. The meeting point is a 15-minute walk from the Pitlochry train station and bus stop. There is also limited free parking at the meeting place.
