Organizer

Jewish Communities of Vermont

Jewish Communities of Vermont is the catalyst for creating strong vibrant and enduring Jewish connection, identification and affiliation throughout the state.

Mission:
JCVT strives to strengthen existing community organizations, particularly, JCVT will create synergies with synagogues, by enhancing their position as regional hubs of Jewish life. In addition, JCVT will work with and encourage Jewish cultural and educational organizations across the state. We anticipate working among communities across Vermont, facilitating Jewish educational, cultural, social, charitable, and religious programs available throughout the state.
JCVT seeks to increase demand for and availability of both new and existing synagogue and other Jewish programs in order to serve groups and individuals, affiliated or not, that are focused on Jewish life and interests.   We hope to address currently unmet needs including youth, young families, seniors and the underprivileged.  We anticipate sharing the JCVT template with other communities across the country, in order to serve as a national model.
JCVT will provide communications and connections, facilitating state-wide programs and activities, and educational resources and services among the diverse and dispersed, organized and independent Jewish groups in Vermont.
Values:  JCVT is a non-denominational organization that seeks to strengthen existing Jewish organizations and to encourage new outlets for Jewish expression, affiliation, education, communication and practice for all Jewish Vermonters by encouraging connection and innovation.
