Description

Join alumni and friends at JETAANC's annual Summer Picnic in Golden Gate Park! Let's enjoy some good food and good company. This year's location is special: the very top of the Strawberry Hill, an island in the middle of historic Stow Lake!

Please register through Eventbrite. Bring your families, bring your friends, bring your sweethearts AND please bring a potluck picnic dish and drinks to share! Pizza will also be available onsite for $5.

This year we are excited to partner with Japan Society's Young Professional Group. We are also inviting new JETs departing in August, as well as Japanese participants on the Cultural Vistas' Kizuna Project, a U.S.-Japan youth exchange program initiated in response to the 3-11 earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku.

Some notes:

1. The picnic site is at the very top of Strawberry Hill, with great views.

2. Be sure to use the restroom before climbing the hill. The nearest restrooms are at the Boat House at the bottom of the hill, a 15-minute walk from the picnic site.

3. Bring your own beverages (including water) and some food to share (main dish, side dish, salad, snacks and/or dessert are all options!). We will have plates, cups, and cutlery available.

4. Pizza will be available for $5.

5. Bring warm clothes and be prepared for any weather! The weather should be nice, but you never know in San Francisco! Pack sunscreen and a hat as well. Feel free to wear yukata or happi coats, etc. if you have them!

6. You may want to bring a blanket to sit on, as picnic table space is limited.

7. Bring a frisbee, soccer ball, or other recreational items if you like!
