Celebrate Jerusalem Day, honoring Morey Schapira and our graduates ; hear Egyptian-born Hussein Aboubakr's journey from hatred to Zionism.
About this event
Join us for a light sushi dinner to celebrate Jerusalem Day and hear from our amazing 2019 graduates. The evening will feature an inspirational and unbelievable true story of Hussein Aboubakr, a story thats worthy of a Hollywood Movie!
Hussein Aboubakr grew up in Egypt with hatred for Jews running through his veins. He would spend his days fantasizing ways to demolish the Jewish State. He imagined his evil neighbors to be "bloodthirsty Zionists." As he researched further throughout his young adult life, he discovered the truth. The more he read about the Jewish people and their history, the more he became disillusioned with the pernicious narrative being preached to him and his peers in Egypt.
He now dedicates his life to education and sharing the truth. Hussein will inspire us while encouraging our graduating Club Z seniors to be at the forefront of Israel advocacy and positive change, as they get ready to enter college and lead on their campuses.
The evening will consist of:
- A light Sushi dinner
- Club Z graduates sharing their stories
- Remarks by Hussein Aboubakr, followed by a Q&A
- Commemoration of Jerusalem Day
- Honoring Morey Schapira, a true pillar of the Club Z community
