Event description

Description

This workshop will introduce some theoretical frameworks underpinning reflective practice and consider some of the models and methods of Reflection using resources from Moon (2004). It will also provide an opportunity to construct and share reflections in a variety of media (which can include oral, written, visual and other forms) and the appraisal of reflective practices and recognition of key attributes in the context of good practice.

Jenny Moon BSc, MPhil, MEd, MSc, MA, PhD.

If you have an interest in reflection you will likely recognise Jenny Moon's name as an eminent author in this area. Until May 2016, Jenny was an Associate Professor at Bournemouth University (Centre for Excellence in Media Practice – in research on learning) having worked in higher education and professional development for 20 years. During this time, Jenny ran a large number of workshops in the UK and abroad on reflection, programme structure (eg writing learning outcomes), learning journals, critical thinking, academic assertiveness, assessment and student learning and the uses of story in education. Jenny has a UK National Teaching Fellowship (2006). Within and outside of academic contexts, Jenny works as an oral storyteller. She now works with Bournemouth University as a Visiting Fellow and continues to work freelance, running workshops and projects. Most of the workshops relate to the subject matter of her books (9), many of which are about reflection.
