Jeanne Blissett Robertson & Julia Policastro: Visions of an Inbetween
Overview
Join us for the opening night ofVisions of an Inbetween, a two-person exhibition featuring new works by Jeanne Blissett Robertson and Julia Policastro. The show brings together two distinct yet connected practices that explore imagination, materiality, and transformation.
Blissett Robertson presents a new series of porcelain sculptures inspired by rock crystals and their associations with clarity and foresight. Each piece is delicately painted with watercolor images of animals drawn from slot machine graphics, reinterpreting these symbols of wilderness as reflections on what we seek in a constantly shifting world.
Policastro complements these crystalline forms with sculptural works that merge painting and relief. Adapting the Italian quilting technique trapunto, she creates plaster surfaces that appear soft and pliant, where hands emerge holding small objects—fragments of gestures suspended between memory and dream.
Together, the artists debut a collaborative piece that fuses Blissett Robertson’s crystal motifs with Policastro’s tactile forms. Visions of an Inbetween, a title borrowed from the language of psychics, invites visitors to pause between fact and fiction, past and future.
