About this Event

The Jewish Center for Justice’s Lawyers' Committee, in collaboration with the ACLU of Southern California, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, and USC OUTLaw, invites you to join a Lawyers' Briefing on the LGBTQ discrimination cases before the Supreme Court during its October Term 2019 (Bockstock v. Clayton County, Georgia and Altitude Express Inc. v. Zarda).

The briefing will be presented by ACLU Staff Attorney Aditi Fruitwala and will cover the legal issues and arguments raised in the cases as well as what legal, legislative and other options will remain available if the Supreme Court rules that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 does not prohibit employment discrimination against LGBTQ individuals. The briefing will be held telephonically at 12:00 p.m. PDT on Friday October 4, four days before the Court will hear arguments in the cases.
