JBLM KUDO (Kids Understanding Deployment Operations) 2017
Sat, May 13, 2017, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM PDT
The KUDOs event will START in Bldg 576 on McChord Field. It is very important that you arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before your registered start time. For example, if you signed up for 10:00a.m. -- your showtime at building 576 is 9:30a.m. Once you arrive at bldg. 576, you will sign in your child(ren). Your child(ren) will then process through a mock deployment line and receive mock supply items for use during their "deployment".
Note: Each group of children will be assigned two adult chaperones who will accompany them thru the entire deployment process.
When processing is completed in bldg. 576, your child(ren) and the two chaperones will board a bus that will be driven to their "deployed' location (Heritage Hill or Troop Hoolding Area if inclement weather) on McChord Field. When your child(ren) arrive at the deployed location, they will receive a "Deployment In-Brief" followed by face prainting, entertaining demonstrations and static displays (again, accompanied by the two adult chaperones).
Once the "deployment" is completed, the children and chaperones will re-board the bus and return to bldg. 576 where they will be greeted by Parents/Guardians with US Flags and Welcome Home Posters!
PARENTS/GUARDIANS WILL NOT ACCOMPANY THEIR CHILDREN TO THE DEPLOYED LOCATION. While the children are deployed, parents/guardians will remain at Bldg 576 and this will allow them time to make Welcome Home Posters etc.
There will also be several helping agencies (i.e. Red Cross, CYSS, MFLC) on site to answer questions. You can expect your child to be gone for approximately 1 hour.
Note: You only need to register your child(ren) who will actually be participating in the deployment (ages 5-12) and please provide a legitimate email address in case we need to contact you.
