Trinca Brasil are the recent winners of the CCBC Jazz Fest (Canada Brasil Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo).

After decades of honing their craft, Pablo Fagundes (harmônica), Felix Júnior (7-sting nylon guitar) and Pedro Almeida (drums) came together to form Trinca Brasil, based on common musical tastes.

The three instrumentalists have successful solo careers in common, with CD releases, participation in national and international festivals alongside renowned artists, Brazilian music workshops at North American universities and in Brazil under their belts.

In the current phase of their career, the trio proposes an improbable mix. The harmonica accompanies 7-string nylon guitar solos, the drums harmonize and glue the sound. Thus instruments converse amongst themselves and the music with the audience.

Trinca enables innovative interpretations, moving with technique and sophistication through the various genres of Brazilian music. Presenting an instrumental retake on Brazilian music traditions and their influences, the trio also shows a refined original repertoire, highlighting the talents of its composers.

Representing the new scene in Brazilian instrumental music, this promising success story was recently revealed by the CCBC Jazz Fest competition, organized by Fare Arte for the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo, in which a team of high profile judges unanimously selected Trinca Brasil as the winners amongst over 120 entrants of high calibre.
