ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jay Asher has worked at an independent bookstore, an outlet bookstore, a chain bookstore, and two public libraries. He hopes, someday, to work for a used bookstore. When he is not writing, he plays the guitar and goes camping.

ABOUT THIRTEEN REASONS WHY

You can’t stop the future.
You can’t rewind the past.
The only way to learn the secret . . . is to press play.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why. Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah's pain, and as he follows Hannah’s recorded words throughout his town, what he discovers changes his life forever.

Need to talk? Call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) anytime if you are in the United States. It’s free and confidential.

Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the book signing. Guests will be released by row, continuing from front to back.

Books will be available at a sale hosted by the Westerville Library Foundation. Guests are also welcome to bring personal copies for signing. Limit of 3 books per guest.

"Action" photos of you having your book signed by the author are welcome. If time allows, posed photos may be requested after the book signing is completed.

The book sale hosted by the Westerville Library Foundation will be located in the common area outside the auditorium. Credit card, check and cash payments are accepted. The book sale will remain open during the presentation and will continue afterward based upon demand and book availability. The book sale is a fundraiser for the Westerville Library Foundation.

At the conclusion of the author's presentation, feel free to exit the auditorium to make book purchases. Or, once you are released for the book signing, let a staff member know you'd like to purchase a book and we'll hold your spot in line.

Please note that the number of books for sale is limited, and the Foundation may sell out. If you wish to ensure that you have a copy of the book for signing, you are welcome to bring your personal copy.
