Java Community Meeting @ QCon NY - JVM DEATH MATCH
Event Information
Description
No offense to the Java source language, but the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is where the action is. It is the heart of the Java ecosystem.
With an increase in CPU cores, GPUs, assorted other FPGAs, distributed flat memory and a variety of new use cases for machine learning, low latency communication and IoT, the JVM continues to evolve to meet these requirements. And the JVM needs to support not only the Java language but other programming languages and environments; some are still to be invented.
But which JVM runs our apps the fastest? Which JVM is the best for high performance enterprise applications? Which JVM provides the best memory management? Which JVM should I use for my IoT applications? Which JVM provides the best separation in a multi-tenant cloud environment? And which JVM has the most promise for the future?
The leading JVM companies in the JVM world, Oracle, Azul and IBM, have sent engineering emissaries to visit the NYJavaSIG and ACGNJ at QCon NY to tell us which JVM is the optimal for certain use cases... and which JVM has the best roadmap for the future. This should be a fantastic meeting to understand the differences among these modern JVMs.
