Jason D. Antos

Jason was born in 1981 in Flushing,Queens and has resided in the town of Whitestone his whole life. His mother is a Brooklyn native and his father an immigrant from Greece. 

Jason is a graduate of the University of Miami where, in 2007, he received his M.F.A in Screenwriting & Communications. A highly competitive school, Jason was one of only ten selected in the entire United States to attend the special program. 

In 2003, he wrote his first short screenplay entitled, Cryder Point. Written in just one night, the script was nominated for the Best Screenplay award at the Queens International Film Festival in 2004. The film itself also became an official selection at the New York Independent Film and Video Festival in 2003. 

Currently, Jason has written five books on the history of Queens for Arcadia Publishing.

The works include: Whitestone: Images of America, Shea Stadium: Images of Baseball, Queens: Then & Now and Flushing: Then & Now. Recently he published his fifth book, Images of America: Jackson Heights which he co-authored. 

Jason is a member of the Queens Historical Society and a member of the board of directors for the Bayside Historical Society. 


The  "TOP ADVOCATES FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION & EDUCATION" AWARDS RECEPTION takes place on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, 6pm to 8pm, at The Mansion at the Woodlands at Woodbury, One Southwoods Road, Woodbury, NY.
