JARG WORKSHOP
JARG WORKSHOP (13:00-15:00pm)
A two-hour poetry workshop designed to get people writing poetry. Includes writing exercises, feedback, and guidance on your work. Whether you’re a first-time writer or looking to develop your existing work, all abilities and experiences are welcome.
Workshop materials and light refreshments provided.
From 13:00-15:00pm at Make North Docks. Tickets £5. Free tickets available.
The workshop will be led by JARG Editors Madelaine Kinsella and Matthew Thomas Smith.Madelaine Kinsella is the Editor of JARG. She has an MA in writing from Manchester Metropolitan University and her debut poetry pamphlet, SCOUSE BROWS, will be published this year by Wrecking Ball Press. Her work is concerned with Scouse identity, vernacular, and fashion culture. Her work has been featured on BBC Radio Merseyside, in Bido Lito!, and in Fourteen Poems,Matthew Thomas Smith is the Co-Founding Editor of JARG. Since he began JARG in 2013, he has edited and published two issues of the magazine, the second of which being supported by the Captain Beefheart Festival in Liverpool in 2017. He has a BA(Hons) in English Literature & Creative Writing from LJMU and his sold-out debut poetry collection, ‘SONGS’ was published in 2019 by Nifty Records. His second collection of poetry, ‘DANCES’, is forthcoming this year.
