January Sowing with the Hortus Poeticus Senior Grower

Late January is the ideal time to ease the winter blues away and start planning for Spring with some gentle seed sowing for summer blooms. The reward is far deeper than flowers later, as getting your hands in the soil now and your soul looking to the future is inspiring and renewing at what can be a difficult time of year.

In this gentle rebalancing morning, we introduce you to our seed sowing methods. Together we will sow seeds of your own to take home as well as give you a selection of plants we have sown and overwintered for you. The two combined should set you up for a bloom filled summer plus the profound pleasure of tending them from seed (or young plant) to bloom.

As always, your morning will include a full tour of our farm which is not usually open to the public and we will share some of our favourite seeds in the very particular Hortus Poeticus palette in course materials.
