Description

Dr. Hope Lima will give attendees an overview of the profession of lactation, current United States and worldwide breastfeeding recommendations and active initiatives in North Carolina that aim to promote, support, and protect breastfeeding. Subsequently, the North Carolina Breastfeeding Report Card (released by the CDC in 2018) will be reviewed to give attendees an understanding of the areas that are going well and areas that can be improved upon in North Carolina. Attendees will then be asked to participate in a brief discussion about the role of a dietitian in the breastfeeding relationship. The presentation will wrap up with an overview of the available donor human milk feeding options and recent research investigating nutritional and immunological differences between these options.

CDA will be collecting canned good donations at this event. Please no glass containers. The most needed items at this time:
