Event description

Description

Professionals, peers, and most importantly, friends. Three of Indy's best and brightest are joining Chef Esteban Rosas in our kitchen for one spectacular dinner. They all met and worked together early in their careers and now they're getting the band back together for an evening at Black Market. Each of the six courses will be paired with wines chosen by our Sommelier, Alex, to highlight each chef's unique culinary vision. Our guest chefs for the evening...

GEORGE TURKETTE / Turchetti's Salumeria

George Turkette started his culinary pursuit in his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. While attending the Ivy Tech Culinary Institute, George observed his first hog butcher demo and he immersed himself in learning whole animal butchery. After working in several Indianapolis fine dining restaurants and an internship at a USDA meat processor, George pursued an opportunity to open his own facility, Turchetti’s Salumeria, in February 2017. George is dedicated to using whole animals only to create his line of salumi, sausages, and smoked meats influenced by “Old World” techniques and his Italian heritage. He is an advocate for heritage breed animals and believes in preserving history through thoughtfully crafted charcuterie

ALAN STERNBERG / Common House

Previously the Executive Chef of Cerulean Restaurant in Indianapolis, Sternberg was a Rising Star Chef of the Year semifinalist for the 2016 James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards. With an eye for design and an appreciation of local, seasonal ingredients, Sternberg has become known for creative food that is as beautiful as it is delicious.

PETE SCHMUTTE

Getting his start filling a bake case in Bloomington, Indiana, Peter Schmutte soon realized that his path lay in the kitchen. To launch his career, Schmutte headed to Chicago’s French Pastry School, graduating in 2005. His next steps took him to the height of contemporary cuisine with pastry cook positions at Tru and NoMI. He then undertook a position with Wolfgang Puck, traveling with Puck, Sherry Yard, and corporate chefs to assist at events and train pastry staff across the country. After getting his fill of life on the road, Schmutte returned to Indy in time to take over as Pastry Chef at Cerulean in Indianapolis before joining the team at Beholder in 2018.
