What is Booked?

Booked is a monthly author series that takes place in person in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. Each month, 3-5 authors will join us to read from their latest book, take part in a moderated discussion, and sign books.

Where does Booked take place?

Booked takes place at Fleur Providence, on the second floor of the Omni Providence Hotel in downtown Providence. The address for Fleur is the same as that of the Omni - 1 W Exchange Street.

Where should I park?

There is valet parking at the Omni ($20 or $12 with validation from Fleur), & street parking that is free after 5pm.  There is also the south garage at the Providence Place Mall that is connected to the 2nd floor of the Omni (near Fleur) via a skywalk. Parking in the mall is $2 for 2-5 hrs.

Can I have dinner and drinks at Booked?

Yes! Fleur has a full menu of appetizers, salads, pizzas, entrees and desserts that you can eat before or during the series. There is also a full bar for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Is this a book club?  Should I read the books before the event?

Accepted Answer

No,this is not a book club, and you do not have to read the books before the event. Hopefully you will discover some new writers at Booked whose books you are excited to read!

Should I buy the books before Booked?

Sure, if you want to, and we urge you to get the books from your favorite indie bookstore or through Books on the Square in Providence, where Booked's founder works! The authors' books will also be for sale at Booked.
