Adolescent Dog - For Dogs 6 Mos to 14 Mos
6 sessions - First session is a HUMANS ONLY class.
ADOLESCENT DOG class is designed for the teenage dog - the dog that is or is getting close to full size with increasing energy and emerging independence. No prior training is required, but if your teenage dog has had a young puppy class, there is lots of new information that builds on that foundation as well as work on proofing behaviors that your puppy learned in their prior class. This class focuses on impulse control, relaxation and good manners. For those dogs with some prior training, we will work on proofing verbal control without the need for food lures or rewards. Exercises include distance sits, play, settle/relaxation, rock-solid stays, and walking and heeling.
The 1:3 teacher to student ratio allows flexibility in working with you and your dog wherever your dog is in their training.
Puppies must be 6 to 14 months of age at the beginning of class. Your dog must be able to interact with other dogs without serious displays of aggression. Proof of vaccination history required.
Classes are 1 hour long.
