*****CO-HOSTED BY THE PIEDMONT HIGH SCHOOL BIOTECHNOLOGY CLUB *****

Do you know what bacteria is growing on your phone? What about on your fingers? Come to the Piedmont Makers Tech Social on January 19 at 6:30pm to do a cool experiment and find out the answers to those questions as well as listen to Dr. Kevin Doxzen, a scientist at the Integrative Genomics Institute who worked in the lab that discovered CRISPR gene editing, tell us about CRISPR and his experiences as a pioneer in biotechnology.
PREPARING YOURSELF
If you have a fun biotech experiment running (mold in your lunchbox???) please feel free to bring to share. Otherwise, just bring your phone and fingers! We will have all other materials for the experiment. Of course, there will be social time with your tech friends, a pizza dinner, milk, and cookies for only $5! As usual, bring whatever else you’d like to share!
