Event description

Description

For the 2017/2018 Hackle and Hops events we're going to focus on different techniques each month. For January we'll be focusing on Marabou and the palmering technique. The Wooly Bugger streamer is one of the most used fly throughout the world. The most recognizable, and likely the most commonly fished streamer fly ever tied. The wooly bugger attracts fish in fast or slow water, rivers, ponds, and lakes, in dirty water or spring creeks. It imitates crayfish, minnows, sculpin, leeches, and many other natural foods trout love.

Where: Hugo's on the Hill

Time: 6pm - 8:30pm

Instructor: Jodi Fitts

Fly: Wooly Bugger

Cost: $10 for all the supplies to tie up as many flies as you can. You can also bring your own supplies.

Please email spokanewomenonthefly@gmail.com if you need a vice or with any questions.

This class will max out at 25 . Trout Unlimited only has 10 functional vices. This will also be a first come basis, please email us at spokanewomenonthefly@gmail.com to reserve a vice and tools. A recipe (materials and directions) will be emailed to those who have signed up for the event a week or so ahead of time. You have the option to bring your own materials or you can pay $10 to use all the supplies and tie as many flies as you can get twisted up in the evening.

Please contact spokanewomenonthefly@gmail.com if you will be using the SWOTF supplies and/or if you need a vice and tying tools.

PLEASE - Let us know as soon as you can if you cannot attend. We've had several no shows in the past months with women on the Waiting List.

All levels and ages welcomed!!! Even if you've never tied or fished before, please come. This is a great way to start to learn the entomology of the bugs as well.
