BRIC and the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) have partnered to expand media education programs for Brooklyn residents. BRIC is BPL’s lead media education partner, offering free courses and equipment at the Central Library (located at 10 Grand Army Plaza).
Free Media Courses include:
- Short Form Video Techniques for Mac and PC
- Digital Storytelling and Enhanced Podcasting for Mac
- Intro to Digital Photography
- Digital Photo Enhancement
- Video Blogging
- Oral History and Digital Archiving for Mac
- Capturing Your Poetry
When & Where
BRIC is a cultural institution dedicated to presenting contemporary art, performing arts and community media programs that reflect Brooklyn’s diverse communities, and to providing resources and platforms to support the creative process. All of BRIC’s offerings are free or low cost, to enhance the public’s access to and understanding of arts and media. BRIC is the community media access TV organization for Brooklyn. Its community media programs offer Brooklyn residents free access to media production facilities and equipment and low-cost media education through the BRIC Media Education. BRIC’s community media programming also includes three programming initiatives aired on the 4-channel Brooklyn Public Network: community-produced Brooklyn Free Speech TV; BRIC-produced, Brooklyn-focused Brooklyn Independent Media; and Brooklyn Bulletin Board, a 24/7 looping community calendar used by Brooklyn non-profits.
