About this event
As part of the annual Jane's Walks celebration, we're hosting a walking tour along the route of Seattle's next streetcar segment: the Center City Connector. Learn about the history of streetcars in Seattle, project construction, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the First Hill streetcar maintenance facility.
Spanning between Pike Place Market and Occidental Park, the streetcar line will run along First Avenue and connect our two existing lines in First Hill and South Lake Union.
The walking tour will last approximately 2 hours. Proper footwear is required: no heels or open-toed shoes.
ABOUT JANE'S WALKS
Jane Jacobs is a celebrated urban activist who championed the voices of everyday people in neighborhood planning and city-building. Jane's Walks are held worldwide on the first weekend of May in celebration of her birthday. Over 150 cities host citizen-led walking tours to make space for people to observe, reflect, share, question and re-imagine the places in which they live, work and play.
