World-renowned artist and architect James Hubbell will showcase a selection of his works in an exhibit entitled “That Which Must be Hidden” at the St. James Library/Gallery May 19 to July 23. The two-month exhibit, in the Gallery and adjacent courtyard, will feature stained glass, paintings and sculptures.

Several events are being planned for the Exhibit:

May 19, Friday, 6pm: Opening Night Reception

May 21, Sunday, 5pm: Taizé Service

June 9, Friday, 6pm: Conversation with Jim

June 25, Sunday, 3pm: Marianne Gerdes Lecture

July 7, Friday, 6pm: Marianne Gerdes Lecture

Hubbell will be present at many of these events and has written five poems specifically for the exhibit. The award-winning artist’s buildings and artwork can be found in museums, parks, schools and gardens around the world. Several of his most famous sculptures are on Shelter Island and in Coronado. He also has designed and built one of San Diego’s most architecturally significant homes, the famous Ilan-Lael in Santa Ysabel.

May 19 - July 23 the Exhibit will be open for public viewing every :

Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11am - 2pm

Saturdays and Sundays between 11am - 4pm

Other dates are available to view Exhibit By Appointment.
