Sruti is proud to present a grand Kuchipudi dance by Jaikishore and Padmavani Mosalikanti - Grand Indian Kuchipudi Dance.Sruti is grateful for partial funding for this program by National Endowment for Arts (Art.Gov)

Born in 1974 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Shri Jaikishore Mosalikanti received his training in Kuchipudi dance under Shri Vempati Chinna Satyam at the Kuchipudi Art Academy.

Shri Jaikishore Mosalikanti has performed widely in major dance festivals within the country and abroad. He has performed many lead roles in the dance productions choreographed by his guru. Shri Jaikishore has choreographed numerous solo as well as group productions and presented them in the major dance festivals such as Konark Dance Festival, Khajuraho Dance Festival and All India Dance Festival. He has also travelled abroad extensively for performances and workshops including the Erasing Borders Festival in New York, U. S. A.

Shri Jaikishore Mosalikanti has received many honours, which include the Natya Vishaarada by the Kuchipudi Art Academy in 1999 and the Yuva Kala Vipanchee by the Vipanchee Trust in 2004. He has taught Kuchipudi dance at the Kuchipudi Art Academy from 1996 to 2006. Presently, he is imparting training in the art form at his dance institution, Shivamohanam in Chennai.

Jaikishore Mosalikanti is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2013-2014 for his notable talent in the field of Kuchipudi dance.

Padmavani, wife and disciple of Sri. Kishore Mosalikanti, was initiated into dance at a young age and has eventually grown to be a kuchipudi exponent. Though her initial training was in bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi became her passion after she joined Kuchipudi Kala Kendra Mumbai in 1995 under the tutelage of Sri.M.S.R.Murty, a senior disciple of Padmabhushan guru Dr.Vempati Chinna Satyam. She very soon mastered the basic nuances of the art form and became an important part of Kala Kendra’s troupe giving group
and solo performances. She has also played major roles in the dance-dramas. She has won the acclaim of Critics and Connoisseurs of art, for her apt portrayal of the role ‘Satyabhama’ in the traditional Kuchipudi dance ballet ‘Sri Krishna Parijatam’. She has also received rave reviews in the local dailiesfor the same. She has been a great support to her teacher in training students and also during lecture demonstrations where she even held the podium. She is also reciepient of the National Scholarship, from the Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India for the year 1998—2000.
