This festival grew out of 50th Earthstrong celebration for our Reverand Mother, Onatti Jellether in 1999. It was held at McClatchy Park in the historic Oak Park community of Sacramento. It was a great success, but way too much work for the few of us who actually put it together. Our line-up was a crucial one then and still talked about today. SInce then people have been asking when are we going to do the next one. All we could say is "at the right time".
Well, the right time has come! Begining this year the festival will be our annual salute to the begining of the harvest season. Our goal is to present a rememberable event and artists, in the tradition of the first JAHARVESTFEST.The other major focus of this festival is building community in the Rasta Way and consciousness.
This is a family event, even though it is an unabashed salute and praise to InI holy herb. There will be a section of the festival area livicated to it. There will also be addresses by activists and spiritualist involed in freeing up InI holy Herb. This is a Reggae festival after all!
Finally, this is a benefit for the Order Of Olufunmi, to fund the many community services we provide .
So please join InI. for a day of PEACE, LOVE & REGGAE!!!!
