Event description

Description

In 2019, J1:27 is hosting "Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) Reflections" training series as part of our Foster & Adoption Group Meetings!

ARC Reflections is a brand new training series produced by Clemmons Thomas Consulting and made available courtesy of the the South Carolina Foster Parent Association. It is geared toward helping ANY FAMILY navigate parenting children who have a history of trauma.

Whereas, in past years we have invited only foster and adoptive parents to our meetings, this year we invite any parent who has a child (or children) with a history of trauma to attend! The material we cover will also be valuable to educators, childcare workers, babysitters, coaches and any professional or volunteer who works with children on a regular basis. If you fit this description, we welcome you to attend as well!

We are thrilled to be able host this 9 stand-alone session series which will provide a high-quality, skill-building curriculum to help parents strengthen attachment, promote self-regulation, build resilience and promote decision-making skills in our children!

We hope you will join us in 2019, and that J1:27's Foster & Adoption Group would be a place that you find a community of support from others on a similar journey!

*Berkeley County FPA meetings will be held immediately following these training sessions*

Though attending this entire series would be extremely valuable, each meeting's session is meant to stand-alone, so don't fear if you have to miss one or more. You can jump in, or back-in at any time!

Registration
Please register for tickets if you plan to attend to enable us to plan accordingly.

Childcare
Childcare is available with registration, and will close 7 days prior to each meeting date.

Education Hour Elligibiity:
Each session is also eligible for continuing education hours for foster parents, or generally eligible for a portion of education hours for private adoption home studies per your agency's discretion. We also especially encourage adoptive parents to attend as a refresher, even years after placement because research shows that trauma often has long term effects on our children's development.
