Event description

Description

Come to our J-MAP Info Session to learn about The Jewish Mentorship Alliance for Professionals.

J-MAP is a unique combination of mentorship and networking within the Jewish community. Jewish Family & Career Services is proud to offer this exclusive opportunity for the purpose of enhancing the development of future young adult leaders within Jewish Louisville.

Applications for the second cohort are now being accepted on the JFCS website through the end of January. Young professionals who have been in the workforce for at least one year will be paired with mentors who have been in the workforce for at least five years. Mentors will act as guides and challengers for their charges rather than career counselors. One mentor shared, “It's rewarding to provide a younger Community member with some life and work advice.”

The pairs will meet monthly for six months with support from JFCS Career Counselor, Erin Heakin and Engagement Coordinator, Lisa Sobel-Berlow. The pairings will be made based on career interests, professional and personal goals. With a few professional development workshops throughout which is open to both current participants and alumni.

The program is free to the participants and is funded in part through a Jewish Heritage Fund for Excellence grant. Contact Erin Heakin, eheakin@jfcslouisville.org or Lisa Sobel-Berlow, lsobel@jfcslouisville.org for more information.
