Event Details

Join the Immigrant Youth Justice League (IYJL) and allies as it celebrates its third year anniversary and its accomplishments, and their vision to continue to organize and live their lives under the motto of "undocumented, unafraid, and unapologetic."

The evening’s program will feature:

  • Testimonies from immigrant youth who have traveled all around the country speaking against the criminalization of immigrants.
  • An awards program honoring faculty and community leaders that build towards a progressive future for immigrants.
  • Silent auction displaying original art from immigrant rights activist and artist.
  • Live-band performance and dancing

IYJL is a Chicago-based organization led by undocumented youth, working towards full recognition of the rights and contributions of all immigrants. You can find more information about us at www.iyjl.org, or e-mail info@iyjl.org. Meanwhile, take a look at this video of our "Coming out of the shadows" rally for 2011, to see some of the work that we do.

Organizer

Undocumented Illinois

Founded in December 2011, Undocumented Illinois is a network of undocumented and youth-led organizations in the state of Illinois. The network reaches universities and suburbs outside of the city of Chicago. We meet to support each other and we work together to fight against deportations, the criminalization of immigrants, we demand access to education for undocumented youth  and work with other organizations to support the rest of the undocumented community in IL.
